![]() Upon creating the first iterations of MIDIGrade in 2015, I had already seen similar solutions built for other MIDI controllers, but none of them were as user-friendly, compactly sized, or intuitive to use as I envisioned. Adding support to additional controllers would mean compromising on these values. Focusing the development on specific controllers has enabled the performance to be precisely fine-tuned, so you can expect great responsiveness and reliability. MIDIGrade is custom-built from ground up for Midi Fighter Twister and X-Touch Mini only. Will MIDIGrade work with other MIDI controllers? There is an exception though with Color/Log/HDR Wheels where you can adjust a single wheel’s two axes at the same time making it effectively behave like a trackerball. Since your cursor cannot be in multiple places at once, this renders adjusting two settings in MIDIGrade simultaneously impossible. MIDIGrade is based on taking advantage of virtual mouse control, and moving your cursor lighting-fast in pixel-perfect fashion. Can I turn multiple knobs simultaneously? You can even manipulate them both at the same time as shown in this video (MIDIGrade + Tangent Ripple). Yes! Thanks to MIDIGrade not requiring to be enabled as a controller in DaVinci Resolve, you can add another controller alongside with it. Can I use MIDIGrade together with a panel like Blackmagic Design Mini Panel or Tangent Wave? Unfortunately, I don't feel this way about other software. Each and every feature implemented has to be made future-proof as well, which is only possible by staying passionately up to date with the development of the parent software. Will you make MIDIGrade work with other software than DaVinci Resolve? Yes! Both free and Studio version will work. Can I use DaVinci Resolve’s free version with MIDIGrade? By limiting this number to a minimum, I’m making sure the workload doesn’t get out of hand, which in turn means rolling out future updates and bug fixes is faster. Since then, 4 more resolutions have been added, so the total amount of coordinates needing of baby-sitting is now 6840. During MIDIGrade version 2.0, I noticed broadening the range to lots of custom resolutions was making the development of updates a bit too overwhelming, so in MIDIGrade 3 the amount was decreased to the 6 most common ones. Unfortunately the answer is no, and here’s why: creating support for a single resolution means manually programming over 600 individual coordinates, and I need to make sure those coordinates stay accurate in the future, too. Will you make my screen resolution available? User feedback has greatly benefited MIDIGrade before, so I love hearing all ideas. If you strongly feel a specific change would make it better, feel free to reach out to support. No, so far I haven't found any practical way to make the mapping user-customisable. You can either print them out yourself from the User Manual, or follow this link to buy a high quality vinyl sticker which will fit your controller perfectly. Please note you can still use MIDIGrade, and all its features, with just the keyboard you already have! How can I get the labels on my controller? MIDIGrade is only the software-part of the equation and you will need to purchase Midi Fighter Twister or X-Touch Mini separately from wherever you can find the best deal from. I’m afraid you have misunderstood the product description. If you're curious about the technical side of it, we explain more detail here in a post titled Mulligan. To apply for a 30% discount email support with a valid student photo ID card, or a valid teacher card to prove that you are a teacher. And Mulligan works without using plugin wrappers, and without requiring plugins to have any special MIDI features – meaning it works with any plugin. Each plugin can have a customized knob mapping (several, actually – which are all managed from within Pro Tools itself). (Otherwise, with just the ring of LEDs for visual feedback, it would be unclear whether a completely unlit ring indicated an unmapped parameter, versus indicating a parameter value of zero.)Īnd, in case it's not clear from what I've already said: Mulligan automatically connects with whichever plugin is the currently focused one. ![]() Mulligan also features some extended MIDI feedback, customized for the Twister: it turns the multi-color (RGB) LED under each knob on or off, to clearly indicate whether that knob has been mapped yet to a parameter in Pro Tools. Yes, Mulligan does indeed get data from Pro Tools for its eight plugin control knobs, and then automatically routes that data to the Twister's ring indicators. Can you verify that Mulligan fixes the issue wit sending midi data back to Twister's ring indicators? So sorry I missed your question before! Pro Tools is one of those applications that doesn't support faders with LED feedback by default. ![]()
